Hand colored copper plate engravings of shells from Encyclopédie ou Dictionnaire des Sciences, des Arts et des Métiers by Denis Diderot & Jean le Rond D’Alembert. Published around 1770. Most prints are engraved by H. J. Redoute, and few by other men and numbers 14 and 15 engraved by Pierre Joseph Redoute. 11.5 inches by 9.25 inches with the great edges of the paper showing.
